Fostering & Diabetes Awareness Days

Fostering

On Thursday 25th October we had a visit from Lambeth fostering and adoption service. There is currently a shortage of foster carers from the Eritrean community to care for the high numbers of children that are arriving in the country without their parents. The event was organised so that member of our congregation and other Eritreans in south London can find out how they can help to provide homes to these children and thereby helping them to settle sooner and have a better chance of making a positive start to their life here in the UK.
By attending this event members were able to find out:
What foster caring is?
The benefits of foster caring
Who is able to become a foster carer?
The process involved in becoming a foster carer
